I'M AIMEE

The short version: I'm an integrative therapies researcher and educator, focused on the use of meaningful technology and communications solutions to reduce symptoms of chronic stress, anxiety, and depression.

CREDS

Disclaimer 1: The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know (see: Dunning Kruger effect).

Disclaimer 2: The less I rely on "knowing" (aka proving) the more fulfilling learning feels to me.

With that said, I'm a lifelong student and here are some of my credentials:

I received my MA in Holistic Health Studies from St. Catherine University; I then careened to the University of Minnesota to study with mentors at the first-of-its-kind Center for Spirituality and Healing. I received my PhD there with a focus in integrative mental health interventions and communications. I also hopped around to other buildings on campus to complete my MA in health communications (another first-of-its-kind dual program with the schools of journalism and public health).

I continue to gather a variety of certifications and trainings to stay in the wellbeing loop (e.g., NASM CPT, E-RYT 500, PYT-500, Healing Touch, Reiki, Mindfulness in Motion, Ayurveda and Tibetan medicine intensive at the Men-Tsee-Khang).

I'm grateful that my work has been supported and shaped by organizations and awards such as: Stanford's Compassion and Technology Award, SOFIA public health award, the National Science Foundation, MIN-CORPS, and several research fellowships.

I also had the honor of being selected as a Dalai Lama Fellow, a global initiative that aims to build and support a network of social innovators who skillfully blend ethics, contemplative values, and compassion into social innovation. The fellowship is personally authorized by the Fourteenth Dalai Lama
